Mizuho Financial Group offers greenhouse gas emission-reducing real estate loans with lower interest rates.
Mizuho Financial Group Inc. will offer real estate loans that incentivize property owners to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, lowering interest rates if they do so. This initiative, starting in April, aims to spur decarbonization. Sustainability-linked loans in Japan, which offer preferential rates for environmental and social goals, have increased, with 665 loans worth ¥711 billion ($4.7 billion) made last year.
