Microsoft unbundles Teams globally from Office, following EU investigation.
Microsoft will sell its chat and video app Teams separately from its Office product globally, following its unbundling in Europe. The European Commission has been investigating Microsoft's bundling of Office and Teams since 2020, following a complaint by Salesforce-owned competitor Slack. Critics argued that bundling the products provided Microsoft with an unfair advantage. Microsoft began selling Office and Teams separately in the EU and Switzerland from August 31 last year.
