Malaysia's government has received updated profiles of over 58.7% of its citizens, allowing it to proceed with plans to cut fuel subsidies and tighten finances. The data will enable authorities to determine where handouts should be directed once subsidies are limited on the cheapest form of gasoline. The Economy Ministry plans to present its plans to re-target subsidies to the Cabinet in April.
