20 Lancashire councillors, including a council leader, resign from Labour over allegations of bullying, stifling of free speech, and attempts to impose party ideas at a local level. The councillors, from three councils in the North West, claim the party leadership is not allowing them to challenge the Tories and hindering them from fulfilling their roles. They will now form independent groups on their respective councils.
