Indian Railway Board plans to introduce longer Vande Bharat trains and expand railway capacity in the ongoing financial year, with the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai manufacturing 15 sets of 20 coaches each and 10 rakes of 16 coaches. The ICF produced 2,829 coaches in FY24, including a record-breaking 1,091 Distributed Power Rolling Stock (DPRS) coaches, and manufactured 51 Vande Bharat rakes, an increase from the previous year's production.
