The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has strengthened its presence in Gujarat by positioning additional vessels, including a Hovercraft at Jakhau and ICGS Samudra Pavak, a Marine Pollution Control Vessel, at Vadinar in the Gulf of Kutch. The Gulf of Kutch, handling 70% of India's oil, has rich biodiversity & requires environmental threat mitigation. The dedicated Marine Pollution Response Unit at Vadinar provides quick, professional responses and serves as a coordination hub for regional stakeholders.
