Hyosung TNC invests $1B to establish a 50,000-ton Bio-BDO factory in Vietnam, with plans to expand future plants to produce 200,000 tons annually. Bio-BDO, made from sugarcane instead of fossil raw materials, is used in various industries, including textiles, engineering plastics, and biodegradable plastics. Upon completion, the project will be the world's first fully-integrated production system for bio-spandex "from raw material to fiber". Future plants will be powered by Geno, a US-based sustainable materials and technology leader, enabling fast-tracked project development and Bio-BDO production.
