Democratic Republic of Congo's President Felix Tshisekedi appointed the country's first female prime minister, Judith Suminwa, a former planning minister. Suminwa takes over from Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde and becomes the first woman in the role. She will focus on the president's priorities of employment, youth, women, and national cohesion, as DR Congo faces ongoing issues of internal displacement and conflict.
