Beginning April 1st, Canada's carbon tax increased by $15 per tonne, raising gas prices in Ontario by 3.3 cents per litre, totaling 17.6 cents per litre. Ontario's government, led by Premier Doug Ford, has not implemented its own carbon pricing system and instead extended the gas and fuel tax rate cut until the end of the year as a temporary measure.
