Apple's ecosystem in India has employed over 150,000 people directly since the approval of the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme in 2021, according to IT minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar. This makes it the country's largest blue-collar job creator, indirectly employing an additional 300,000 people, resulting in over 400,000 new jobs. Apple's Indian ecosystem directly employs around 3,000 people, while the development of iOS applications supports over 1 million jobs.
