27-year-old salesman, Rahul Jayantilal Mehta, was arrested for allegedly stealing Rs 1.05 crore worth of jewellery from a shop in Thane, Maharashtra. The accused, who funded a lavish lifestyle through his theft, was caught on March 26 after the shop owner reported the theft to the police. Mehta, who oversaw sales at the shop, allegedly stole 70 pieces of jewellery, weighing 1.59 kg, between November 2023 and March 2024.
