53-year-old Pennsylvania man David Erikson died on Friday night after his rental vehicle collided with a parked, unloaded, and unoccupied log truck on Route 19 in Nicholas County. The accident occurred at around 9:05 p.m. near the crest of Powell Mountain, Birch River, with the log truck displaying a warning flag. West Virginia State Police are investigating the incident.
