A house fire in Winnipeg's Centennial neighborhood on Alexander Avenue resulted in no injuries and multiple cats being rescued. The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) reported the blaze was accidental, caused by improper disposal of smoking materials. Residents self-evacuated before the fire was controlled, and the City of Winnipeg's Emergency Social Services team is assisting with temporary accommodations.
