West Virginia governor signs "moonshine bill" allowing residents 21+ to distill alcohol at home.
West Virginia governor Jim Justice signed a bill, known as the "moonshine bill," that allows residents 21 and over to distill alcohol at home for personal or family use. The law goes into effect on June 7, and permits one person to distill up to five gallons of alcoholic liquor, or up to ten gallons for households with two or more people. However, selling distilled spirits remains illegal.
