India's NTPC permanently closes 220 MW Barauni Thermal Power Station Stage-I by 2024.

India's largest power utility, NTPC, has permanently closed its Barauni Thermal Power Station Stage-I (220 MW). The company acquired the 720 MW coal-based power station in Begusarai district, Bihar, in 2018 and aims to become a 130 GW firm by 2032. Stage-I of the power station, consisting of two 110 MW units, will be permanently discontinued by March 31, 2024.
