Indian Congress party selects KV Gowtham as its candidate for Kolar Lok Sabha seat in Karnataka, following internal party disputes and threats of resignation from five sitting MLAs and two MLCs over alleged nepotism. The decision to choose Gowtham is seen as a balancing act to appease the factions led by Minister KH Muniyappa and Ramesh Kumar. The Kolar seat was previously held by BJP's S Muniswamy in 2019.
