India will reintroduce limits on imported solar energy modules, effective April 1, to support local manufacturers and promote self-reliance in energy production. This follows a temporary easing of restrictions in 2020 to allow for increased imports from countries like China and Vietnam. Indian domestic module manufacturers expect the resumption of import restrictions to help increase sales volumes and capacity use.
