22-year-old Irish kicker Charlie Smyth signed a 3-year contract with the New Orleans Saints as the first Irish player through the NFL's International Player Pathway program.
The New Orleans Saints have signed rookie kicker Charlie Smyth, a 22-year-old Irish native, to a three-year contract. Smyth participated in the NFL's International Player Pathway program and has a background in Gaelic football, where he played as a goalkeeper for Down GAA. He is the first Irish player to sign with an NFL team through the International Player Pathway program.
