2022-2023 wine exports in France decline due to inflation and reduced consumption.
France's wine industry faces declining sales and exports despite a good harvest due to rising inflation and reduced wine consumption. The 2023 grape harvest was 4% higher than the previous year, but between August and December, exports of origin-protected wines fell by 7% in volume and 5% in commercial value. Exports of other wines fell by 16%, and champagne and cognac exports dropped by 17% and 18% respectively.
