Bus operators reluctant to let vehicles acquired for polls, say payment ‘poor’.

West Bengal bus operators refuse to lend vehicles to the Election Commission for polling due to low payment. The EC and state government departments hire vehicles, drivers, and helpers to transport security and polling personnel. Despite the EC raising fees for hiring vehicles, operators claim the payment is still insufficient, with workers receiving only Rs 250 daily for 72 hours of work.
