Malaysia's Transport Ministry is set to announce the road tax rate for electric vehicles (EVs) by the end of April, according to Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook. The road tax for EVs will be cheaper than for internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to promote their use. The current road tax for EVs is free, and the government aims to make the road tax formula more competitive and lower to encourage EV purchases.
