47-year-old James R. Carroll from Summit Hill died from injuries sustained in a March 9 car crash in Lansford, Carbon County, where his vehicle struck a tree on East Patterson Street. The victim, who was driving, was pronounced dead on March 17 at St. Luke's University Hospital, Bethlehem. State police suspect Carroll was driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance at the time of the crash.
