12-year-old girl shot in Northwest DC neighborhood; police search for suspect. A young girl was found shot in the 500 block of Peabody Street in the Brightwood neighborhood of Northwest D.C. early Friday morning. She was taken to the hospital, and police are investigating while searching for a suspect wearing a mask and all-black clothing. The girl's condition and severity of her injuries are unknown at this time.
