109-year-old Chinese writer, poet, and calligrapher Ma Shitu passed away due to illness.
Renowned Chinese writer, poet and calligrapher Ma Shitu passed away at 109 due to illness. Born in 1915, Ma was a member of the Communist Party of China, graduated from National Southwestern Associated University, and held positions in the Sichuan Provincial Writers Association and Chinese Poetry Society. He continued writing after 100, publishing books at 105 and 107.
