Researchers from Lund University in Sweden have discovered distinct molecular signatures linked to sepsis. A blood test combined with AI could help accurately diagnose sepsis, predict organ failure and death risk, improving patient outcomes. The study analyzed 1,364 plasma samples and identified panels of proteins predictive of organ dysfunction and infection. While further clinical validation is needed, this tool could be used globally for early sepsis detection.
