South African conservation group SANCCOB seeks funds to protect endangered African penguins by inviting "egg adoptions" during Easter.

South African conservation group, SANCCOB, is raising funds to protect endangered African penguins by inviting people to "adopt an egg" during Easter. Over 200 eggs have been incubated since the start of the year after being rescued from two colonies. The African penguin population has significantly declined, with less than 10,000 breeding pairs remaining in 2024. The conservation group is seeking donations to cover the costs of incubation and preserving the species.
