Ontario Provincial Police increase seatbelt enforcement and education during Easter weekend.

Over the Easter weekend, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) will increase presence on highways, focusing on seatbelt enforcement and education. The Nipissing West Detachment's Easter Long Weekend Traffic Safety Campaign aims to reduce fatalities and injuries caused by lack of seatbelt use. Drivers are responsible for ensuring passengers under 16 are properly restrained, including car seats for infants and toddlers. Fines for not wearing a seatbelt range from $200 to $1,000.
