London’s £5 billion super sewer finally completed after eight years.

After eight years of construction, London's £5bn super sewer, officially known as the Thames Tideway Tunnel, is now complete. The 16-mile-long pipe will capture and divert 34 of the most polluting sewage outflows, aiming to reduce raw sewage in the river. The tunnel is expected to be fully operational in 2025, with costs paid by Thames Water customers through increased bills. Critics say the tunnel's effectiveness may be limited due to climate change.
