On 28 March 2024, a ferry on Ghana's Afram River went missing during a severe thunderstorm. The Eastern Regional affiliate Agoo FM reported the incident, with MP Joseph Appiah Boateng on board. Social media shared a video of cars parked on the pontoon, destined for Adawso from Ekyi Amanfrom. The ferry was reportedly displaced by the storm, but later arrived safely at its destination with no negative impact on passengers, vehicles or goods.
