Kilkenny Castle surpassed Dublin Castle as the top visited OPW attraction in 2023, with over 546,000 visitors. The Office of Public Works (OPW) reported that visitor numbers increased to over 15.3 million across their heritage sites in 2023, up from 15 million in 2022. Dublin Castle ranked second with 534,000 visitors, followed by the Rock of Cashel in County Tipperary with 357,000 visitors.
