India's Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has issued an advisory warning citizens about fake calls from scammers posing as DoT officials, threatening to disconnect mobile numbers. These calls, which are aimed at stealing personal information and carrying out financial fraud, also impersonate government officials on WhatsApp, using foreign-origin mobile numbers (+92). The DoT advises citizens not to entertain such calls and not to share any information.
