India releases second tranche of INR/Nu 5 billion to Bhutan for GyalSung Infrastructure Project.

India handed over the second tranche of Rs 500 crore ($66.7 million) to Bhutan for the GyalSung Infrastructure Project, following a state visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The funds are part of an MoU signed in January 2024, allowing the disbursement of a total of Rs 1,500 crore ($200 million) as concessionary financing for infrastructure development linked to the GyalSung academies. The financing is in addition to India's Plan Assistance to Bhutan.
