Government e-Marketplace (GeM) platform's procurement services have grown 205% in the current financial year 2023-24, reaching a record Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) of Rs 4 lakh crore, according to official data. This growth can be attributed to an increase in the procurement of services through GeM, which has enabled small domestic entrepreneurs to participate more easily in government tenders. GeM has experienced significant expansion, now supporting over 1.5 lakh government buyers and 21 lakh sellers and service providers.
