China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi urged Japan to promote peace and stability in Asia during a meeting with former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda in Beijing. Wang expressed hope that Japan would address issues hindering bilateral relations, such as contaminated water from Fukushima, and work with China to jointly promote peace and development. Fukuda said Japan is willing to work with China to advance their strategic relationship and maintain the sound momentum of peace, stability, and prosperity in Asia.
