Cambridge considers a £2/night tourist tax for hotels, aiming to raise up to £2.6m annually.

Cambridge is considering implementing a £2 per night tourist tax for visitors staying in hotels, aiming to generate significant investment in the visitor economy of Greater Cambridge. The proposed Accommodation Business Improvement District (ABID) would not apply to Airbnb or self-catering accommodation. If approved, the tax could potentially raise up to £2.6m annually and could be introduced as early as 2025.
