Aston University, NICT, and Nokia Bell Labs set a new world record of 301Tbps data transfer speed over standard optical fiber.
Aston University, Japan's NICT and Nokia Bell Labs researchers set a new world record for data transfer speed using standard optical fiber, reaching 301,000,000 megabits per second. This is 4.5 million times faster than average broadband, achieved by utilizing new wavelength bands and developing an optical amplifier for the E-band, which is three times wider than traditional wavelengths. This breakthrough could revolutionize internet speeds and access for millions without reliable internet.
