The Vancouver Canucks have placed all-star goalie Thatcher Demko on long-term injured reserve list retroactively, due to a lower-body injury. This move allows the team to gain cap relief and Demko's earliest return is April 6 against the Los Angeles Kings. Demko has a 34-18-2 record this season with a .917 save percentage and 2.47 goals-against average. Casey DeSmith has taken over as starting goalie in Demko's absence.
