Take-Two Interactive acquires Gearbox Entertainment, including Borderlands franchise, for $460m.

Take-Two Interactive has agreed to acquire Gearbox Entertainment from Embracer for $460 million. Gearbox is known for the Borderlands franchise and will significantly expand 2K's internal development team. The acquisition includes Gearbox's intellectual property portfolio, which consists of popular franchises like Borderlands, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, and Homeworld. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of Take-Two's fiscal year 2025.
