A new study presents evidence that eating fortified eggs (containing additional amounts of vitamins or omega-3 fatty acids) up to 12 per week does not negatively impact cholesterol levels when compared to an egg-free diet among US adults aged 50 or older. The findings suggest that fortified eggs can be part of a healthy and balanced diet, even for those at higher risk of heart disease.
