Purdue University engineers & Indiana Department of Transportation are collaborating to build a quarter-mile test bed on US Highway 231/52 to develop wireless charging technology for electric vehicles traveling at highway speeds. Construction begins in April. The patent-pending system, designed by Purdue engineers, will enable electric vehicles, from tractor-trailers to passenger cars, to wirelessly charge during highway driving.
