One person was killed and four others, including a firefighter, were injured after a fire erupted on the eighth floor of Claridge Towers, a senior living apartment building in northwest D.C. Firefighters were dispatched at 8:35 a.m. and rescued residents in distress using an aerial tower. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
