Ontario will prioritise 96% of its international student study permits to public colleges and universities offering in-demand programs such as skilled trades, child care, and healthcare. The federal government announced earlier this year it will reduce the international student permits it hands out, with Ontario seeing its allocation halved. Colleges and Universities Minister Jill Dunlop states the province is focusing on programs supporting in-demand jobs upon graduation.
