2021 Mumbai beach sexual assault accused granted bail by Bombay High Court, as victim's statement indicates friendship.
The Bombay High Court has granted bail to a man arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman at a crowded beach in Mumbai in 2021. Judge Prithviraj Chavan noted that the victim's statement recorded before a magistrate revealed she and the accused were friends. The HC also observed that since the victim was an adult at the time of the alleged offence, it does not appeal to one's mind that the alleged assault occurred.
