A Michigan State Police trooper shot a suspect during a traffic stop in Benton Harbor after the driver allegedly hit a Benton Harbor officer with the vehicle during the incident. The trooper fired his weapon twice at the suspect, who had federal warrants for absconding, in order to stop a life-threatening action. Both the suspect and the injured officer were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
