Kenyan government identifies 12,000 acres for affordable housing development, demolishing old estates.

The Kenyan government is advancing its affordable housing initiative by identifying 12,000 acres of land for development. Alice Wahome, the Cabinet Secretary for Lands and Housing, announced that 575 parcels of land have been earmarked for the project, with some portions currently housing old estates owned by national and county governments, slated for demolition. Demolition activities have commenced in several counties, including Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, and Nakuru.
