Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri signs €1.18bn deal with Indonesia for 2 Multipurpose Offshore Patrol Vessels.

Fincantieri, an Italian shipbuilder, has signed a €1.18bn ($1.27bn) deal with the Indonesian Ministry of Defence to supply two Multipurpose Offshore Patrol Vessels (PPA). The vessels, under construction, are highly flexible and can serve multiple functions such as patrol with sea rescue, civil protection, and first-line combat roles. They are 143 meters long and can reach speeds of over 32 knots. The agreement is part of the collaborative relations framework initiated by the Italian Ministry of Defence.
