Iowa's Patrick McCaffery, son of Hawkeyes coach Fran McCaffery, has entered the transfer portal, the school confirmed Wednesday. McCaffery, who has one year of eligibility remaining, has started 60 of 123 games and averaged 8.9 points per game this season. He has also dealt with personal challenges, including battling thyroid cancer at age 13 and taking a six-game leave last season to address anxiety issues.
