Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) successfully completed the first flight of the indigenous Tejas Mk1A light combat aircraft in Bengaluru on March 28, marking a significant milestone amid global supply chain challenges. The aircraft, piloted by Chief Test Pilot Group Captain K. K. Venugopal (Retired), completed a successful 18-minute sortie and features advanced electronic radar, warfare and communication systems, enhanced combat capability, and improved maintenance features. The Indian Air Force can expect early induction of the Tejas Mk1A, with HAL establishing three production lines for increased output.
