China's National Health Commission issued a circular to enhance midwife service management in public healthcare institutions.

China's National Health Commission issued a circular to improve midwife service management, emphasizing publicly-funded healthcare institutions' role in meeting people's basic needs. It requires county-level areas with more than 300,000 residents to have at least two such institutions, and those with fewer residents to have at least one.
