BJP's decision to induct MP Navneet Rana into its party and field her in the Amravati Lok Sabha seat has sparked criticism from some of its ruling allies in Maharashtra. Allies view the move as "downfall of democracy" and "political suicide". Rana, who has faced allegations of submitting a fake caste certificate, is opposed by independent MLA Bacchu Kadu and former MP Anandrao Adsul. Both have expressed their intention to fight against her as independent candidates.
